HMD Global is now releasing Android 8.0 Oreo update carrying February 2018 security patch for the Nokia 8 and Nokia 3. Google has these monthly security definition releases for Android which fix any exploits or loopholes that might compromise the security. These security patches get updated each month and are made in such a way that OEMs can easily carry over the code and start pushing it to their own devices. Similar is the case with Nokia 8 and Nokia 3, both of these devices have started receiving the February 2018 security patch update from HMD Global.
From the looks of it, the only change with this new update is the security patch and not much else. For Nokia 8, the OTA (Over-the-air) package clocks in at 87MB and for the Nokia 3, it is at 80MB. As for the regions, customers are reporting this update pop up in quite a few regions. The most users who have responded with an affirmative for this update reside in India. It is also logical that HMD Global pushes this update first to Indian users as it has the greatest number of devices.
