Earlier this week, HMD Global finally made things official and announced the Nokia 8 will be priced at Rs 36,999 in India. The device will be available both online and offline purchase starting October 14. This is great news for the Nokia fans in India!
If the phone does launch by early October, it should be available in India before Diwali, which means it will go on sale in the important festive season of India. And you can expect some great deals from the company! As part of the “Make In India” initiative, HMD Global has partnered with Foxconn to manufacture the Nokia 8 for India. This allows HMD Global to sell the phone at a very attractive pricing in the country, putting the phone head to head with many other competitors.
Nokia 8 has a 5.3-inch 2K display with a maximum brightness of 700 nits. Its got the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which is expandable to 256 GB via a microSD card slot. There’s a 13MP + 13MP rear camera which has a coloured and monochrome sensor (OIS is only on the coloured sensor) and a 13MP front camera. Front and rear camera can both record 4K videos. The battery is 3090 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 and a USB-Type C charging port with USB 3.0 supported.
The Nokia 8 is globally available in four colours. There is a matte blue, matte silver, polished blue and a polished copper. A detail to note here is that the polished finishes are not glass but polished 6000 series aluminium. Which would also mean that it may get scratched easily.
