As reported a few days back, here is the official Nokia 6 Android 8.0 Oreo v5.220 firmware / system update. You can now download the full firmware for manual installation on your Nokia 6, in case you have still not received the update. This update brings several new features and a much faster Android experience to Nokia 6 users. Similar to Nokia 5, Nokia 6 was also part of the Nokia Beta Labs for testing out the Android Oreo Beta firmware.
Not just for manual installation, in case you have bricked your Nokia 6 or have run into issues where you need to do a full clean system installation — you can download and install this firmware. This system update is about 1.7GB in size, so we’d recommend downloading it over WiFi. This marks the very first major update for the Nokia 6.
This system update is 1748.8 MB in size and also comes with the latest January 2018 security patch. We recommend installing this ASAP as you should not comprise with the security of your phone, plus also enjoy all the new features Android Oreo has to offer along with a brand new Camera app.
The official changelog of this update says:
- Notification dots
- Update Google Security Patch 2018-01
- Google Play Protect security scans
- Autofill passwords
- Faster boot up
